Upside Down Days

My boys have been so jet lagged since they arrived from two different time zones last Saturday. Our days have been far from normal, but we decided to make the most of it by having very early, light,  almost-evening meals,  and then having heavy breakfasts (because we missed dinner, Mama!), and just  going with the needs of their recovering bodies. So here’s what we did yesterday:

I love watching him cook.

We knew we wouldn’t make it to dinner, as they are barely able to stay awake past 5pm, so we ate at 3:45 and of course we had pancakes. We made them out of a mix this time, but it was an organic wholegrain buttermilk mix from Healthy Options. We all agreed they were pretty good. We topped them with blueberries, of course. While S made the pancakes, A decided to get creative about the table setting, making mine extra special.

Little busy hands.

He was so busy setting the table and casting me sheepish smiles as I put things away. I knew he was up to something, but when I saw what, it still took my breath away.

Awesome.

We enjoyed our meal and are happy that we can make the most of these upside down days. We cooked and cleaned up together, shared lots of giggles, and my two little jet lagged boys are one day closer to getting their rhythm back. The best part is they are home with me at last and our world is perfect again.

Hey Joy. It was nice. Crazy mixed-up times. Even I was getting jet lagged! But we made it fun. It’s nice to feel them so glad to be home, too.
