Winnie-the-Pooh

You must get this wonderful 80th Anniversary Edition of Winnie-the-Pooh! I got it at Powerbooks in Alabang. My 8-year-old and I have been enjoying it everyday.

I realize I had never read this before. When I was growing up I only had the story books–adaptations all, apparently– about Winnie-the-Pooh and they were never as funny and magical as the original. 

My little boy and I have been quaking with laughter and I love how he still climbs onto my lap and nestles under my chin, and how I feel him laugh from head to toe, and how his mirth continues for days as he recalls what Pooh bear said or did or sang.

My 11-year-old also had a blast with it and sometimes still listens in during reading sessions with his younger brother.  He still laughs out loud or tells us that there are funny moments coming up.  Then his eyes light up as we reach those places in the book and laughs heartily along with us.

The illustrations are beautiful and reminds me of a simpler, softer world. I’m so happy this lovely edition is available. It even has a ribbon marker; I always love that.

Go out and get your copy now and start laughing and cuddling with the kids. What a great way to spend the day.
