This is what this site is now. Both my boys are out of Waldorf Schools. One is 25 and married and the other one is entering his junior year in college. What a ride it continues to be!
Feel free to still drop me a message or question ; I am happy to answer and converse.
All the best on your Waldorf journey 🙂

Hello! I’m trying to help my daughter and her husband understand that watching tv is not appropriate for a five year old. They decided to place my grandson is in a public daycare from 8 am to 4:30 pm because both parents have to work. I’m a former Waldorf kindergarten teacher and I’m trying to help somehow. Is there something that I can share with them about the dangers of overstimulation of children at early age? Thank you for any suggestions you might have.
Harriet
Hello Harriet,
Oh my. I’m so sorry to have missed this message. I remember reading “Children of Cyclops: The Influences of Television on the Developing Human Brain”. Also “You Are Your Child’s First Teacher” or any of the Early Childhood books addressed it. How fortunate they are to have a Waldorf Kindergarten teacher in the family! I think if they observed their children keenly, they would see effects of overstimulation vs natural, healthy stimulation!
Hi! A fellow Waldorf mom sent me the link to your site and I found your insights so enriching. We are Waldorf homeschoolers and your blog has helped me feel that there are still a few moms out there who share the same beliefs. Thank you so much!
Thank you, Joy! Happy you found this space.
Hi Panjeet,
I’m so glad that I stumbled upon your blog.
I’m a mom to a 11mo daughter who follows Waldorf education.
May I ask how old should a child take a flight?
I heard that it may affect or overstimulate their senses.
Would love to know what are your thoughts about this.
Regards,
Tottie
It’s definitely overstimulating, but it also depends on what life is asking us to do. As a first time Mom, I brought my son home on a flight when he was a month old. Would I do it again knowing what I know now? No. But if travel is a must then there are things once can do. Rescue Remedy is a must! Perhaps some solum oil, creating a story around it, most of all the parents being regulated so that the child feels calm and safe, etc.
hello! I’m a new mom with a six month old and I was able to have the experience of growing up and studying in the world of school while I live in the Philippines before I move to the United States, namely the Manila Waldorf school. I want my child to be able to experience the same but I an having a hard time finding Waldorf schools nearby. I live in Makati and the nearest one is in Laguna. I read in some post that they are whole schools on wall of education. Can I get more information about this? Thank you 🙂
